Coventry City host Everton at the Coventry Building Society Arena (CV6 6AQ), just north of the city centre off Jimmy Hill Way. Coventry Arena railway station is beside the ground, giving rail travellers a short final walk to the stadium.
How to get from Liverpool to Coventry by train
There are two good ways to do this by rail and both start at Liverpool Lime Street. Some London Northwestern services run right through to Coventry, and when the timings do not suit, Avanti West Coast to Birmingham New Street with a short hop across is usually just as quick.
- Straight through: London Northwestern services from Lime Street towards London Euston call at Birmingham New Street and Coventry. They are less frequent than the Birmingham trains, so check the times first.
- Via Birmingham: Avanti West Coast from Lime Street to Birmingham New Street, then any Coventry-bound service for the last 20 minutes. Often the faster combination.
You arrive at Coventry city-centre station. From there, check the live local rail timetable for Coventry Arena station or use the extended Number 20 bus service towards the Arena area. A taxi from the city centre is another option. Check your return journey before you travel, especially for an evening kick-off.
How to get from Liverpool to Coventry by car
By car it is around 115 miles and about two hours, essentially one motorway. Pick up the M62 east out of Liverpool, join the M6 south and stay on it past Stoke and Birmingham to junction 3, then take the A444 towards Coventry, which brings you past the arena. The M6 around Birmingham is the part that decides your morning. Put CV6 6AQ into your sat nav to bring you straight to the arena.
The one thing worth sorting before you set off is parking. Matchday restrictions operate around the Arena and nearby streets, so use an authorised pre-booked car park rather than arriving without a plan.
Book your CBS Arena parking
Parking near the ground is busy on matchdays. Pre-book before you leave Liverpool so you know where you are heading.
How to get from Liverpool to Coventry by coach
National Express runs coaches from Liverpool to Coventry, usually via Birmingham. Cheap, but a good deal slower than the train. Coaches arrive in the city centre, a short taxi or local train from the ground.
Getting to the ground once you arrive
